Telephone Triage Registered Nurse

<p><strong>Schedule: </strong></p><p>Tuesday 4pm-9pm</p><p>Friday 3pm-10pm</p><p>Saturday 9am-11pm</p><p>Sunday 7am-9pm</p><p>40 hours total</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Title: </strong>Telephone Triage RN (TTRN)                         <strong>Reports To: Senior Coordinator of Triage</strong></p><p><strong>Expected Hours: Full </strong>Time Hourly                          <strong>Salary: </strong>Triage Salary Scale</p><p><strong>                                                                                    </strong></p><p><strong>Supervisory Duties: </strong>No<strong>                                            Overtime Exempt:</strong> No</p><p><strong>Position Summary:                   </strong></p><p>The Telephone Triage RN (TTRN) is responsible for triaging phone calls from unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) safely, efficiently, and effectively while upholding regulatory and policy requirements.  This responsibility also includes accurate, detailed, and quality documentation, and follow up. The TTRN is designated as a Mandatory/Essential Employee. This employee is a Registered Nurse providing essential care to intellectually and developmentally disabled persons in the community, and is required to report to work during State and/or National emergency periods.  </p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities</strong>: </p><ul><li>Maintain RN license, CPR certification and malpractice insurance. </li><li>Obtain RN CM/DN certification, online HRST Rater training and Online HRST Reviewer training. </li><li>Attend three (3) mandatory Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) nurse quarterly meetings per year. </li><li>Telephone Triage<ol><li>All phone calls must be accepted immediately or returned within 15 minutes.</li><li>The Telephone Triage Nurse must have his/her computer readily available at all times.</li><li>All calls received and made regarding individuals must be documented in the call log.</li><li>All calls must be added in real time and typed in as they are taken.</li><li>The Telephone Triage Nurse must review the 5 most recent calls as well as the client info box with each call.</li><li>Communicate with delegating nurses, fellow on call nurses, Management, pharmacy personnel, and assist with/facilitate hospital and sub-acute rehab facility discharges as needed to ensure safety and quality.</li><li>Current policies and regulations must be followed with each phone call. </li><li>Resources (i.e. medical and medication records) to ensure safety must be utilized. </li><li>Review, file, and follow up on medical records as per policy.</li></ol></li><li>Complete, review and update online HRSTs as needed. </li><li>In the event that the United States Government and/or the Local State Government determines and announces the decision to close, delay or cancel activities in the State of Maryland related to emergency conditions, this position is required to complete all regular duties or as instructed by management. </li><li>Attend scheduled Nurse and staff meetings. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>AS, AA or BS Degree in nursing is preferred.</li><li>Current/valid Maryland RN license or current/valid multistate compact license is required. </li><li>Experience in the developmental disabilities environment is highly desired. </li><li>Must have a working “smart” cell phone capable of making calls, receiving calls, receiving emails and sending emails.</li><li>Must have reliable wireless internet.</li><li>Must be able to fluently speak and understand spoken English.</li><li>Must be able to fluently write and read English.</li></ul><p><strong>Employee Expectations:</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Quick learner, problem-solver, and strong decision-making skills.</li><li>Detail oriented, accurate with good organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Willingness to provide back-up support where and when needed.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.</li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple duties.</li><li>Creative problem-solving skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to sit and look at a computer for multiple hours during a scheduled workday.</li><li>Must be able to type on a computer (both laptop and desktop) keyboard and utilize a computer mouse for hours at a time during a scheduled workday.</li></ul><p><strong>License/Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>RN License</li><li>CPR</li><li>RN CM/DN certification</li><li>Online HRST Rater Training and Online HRST Reviewer Training</li></ul><p><br></p><p> </p><p><strong>Note:</strong> Dimensional Health Care Associates, Inc. reserves the right to change the duties of the job at any time and this Job Description is not designed to cover all of the position’s requirements</p><p><strong>Note:</strong> DHCA email account information is made available to the employee on the employee’s personal electronic devices as a courtesy to the employee</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>                </p>
