Position Summary:

Under general supervision, investigates, evaluates, and settles auto theft claims based upon theft-related damage of recovered vehicles and current value of un-recovered vehicles. Claims are typically resolved within a 30-day period because of the volatile nature of auto theft. Investigate total theft claims by obtaining relevant loss information such as statements, police reports, and driving records as well as researching history of vehicle, past losses, lien holders, etc. Coordinate retrieval of recovered vehicles with tow yards, repair shops, and/or appropriate authorities. Set up inspection or property evaluation with appraisal department for reimbursement/repair of damage; coordinate disposition of total loss vehicles with salvage department.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

 

$22.11 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$20.19 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$18.26 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

 

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

 

Negotiate settlement and secure appropriate documents; issue drafts for adjusted claims as necessary. Close files according to Company procedures. Evaluate claim for subrogation potential and screen for possible coverage problems, fraudulent claims or questionable activity and recommend transfer of file to appropriate department for further investigation. Notify appropriate agencies/departments of theft information such as, N.I.C.B., agents, attorneys, and underwriting. Maintain diary of claims pending and update file information; continually review and monitor progress and expense of claims pending. Includes completion of the formal claims training program, which may require overnight travel for at least 1 week.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• High School Diploma or GED.

 

Preferred:

• Associate degree.

• You will be required to obtain a Company sponsored Adjuster’s license to handle claims, to be secured upon hire.

 

Experience:

 

Minimum:

• Customer service experience required.

 

Preferred: 

• 6-12 months of related experience.

• Experience with handling high call volume in a professional call center.
