Transportation Construction Inspector

Aguirre & Fields is currently seeking an experienced Construction Inspector, level 1-3, to join our CEI team in the Hays County, TX area. Position Summary The Construction Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and documenting the inspection and testing activities of contractors and inspection staff for an asphalt paving project. This role ensures all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules. This will be a short-term, part-time position. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess aging infrastructure and document current deficiencies
  • Monitor and direct inspection and testing activities on active construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspection activities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support schedule tracking and project reporting efforts.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–7 years of relevant experience in construction inspection (heavy civil, structural concrete, storm sewer).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs as required by job duties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant technology and software preferred.
