Join our growing Distribution team today. Job Overview: Deliver natural and conventional merchandise to various independent retail customers. Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Ensure compliance with company procedures as outlined in UNFI Drivers’ Handbook and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (DOT). Perform required vehicle safety inspections before, during and after dispatch. Comply with federal hours of service requirements. Correctly execute daily log and trip report. Immediately report all accidents involving company equipment to appropriate manager. Comply with Federal and State mandated traffic laws and established company safety procedures. Maintain basic familiarity and compliance with FMCS regulations. Maintain schedule of deliveries per dispatch instructions. Job Requirements: Valid Class A CDL license. Minimum of 2 years of tractor trailer driving experience or 1 year experience with proof of graduation from an accredited commercial driving school. Clean driver record. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Good customer service skills Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to lift cases weighing up to 95 pounds in customer assist deliveries. Regular extra drivers are not full-time but may receive the following benefits upon qualification under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (1) All paid days off will be paid at 8 hours per day. (2) Straight Grid pay for Grid runs and hourly pay rate for yard work. (3) If a Regular extra driver works eleven (11) days or 90 hours in preceding month, they are entitled to Health & Welfare benefits covered in CBA. If not, Health & Welfare benefits may be purchased at 50% of existing premium costs. Regular extras will be called out by seniority after regular bid drivers by seniority on their scheduled day off (who signed the extra day sheet). Regular extra drivers must bid for vacant positions as regular drivers when available or be terminated. Regular extra drivers must accept supplemental work when offered. After two (2) refusals of work in a two (2) month time frame, such driver will be removed from the Regular Extra Classification and placed in the casual classification subject to all provisions.
