This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary.<br /><br /><b><u><span>GENERAL DUTIES</span></u></b></p><p>Facilitates and maintains a safe environment for patients and others:</p><ul><li>Performs the priority technical procedures required by the <span>area/department/assignment</span> safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally.</li><li>Transcribes orders, initiates, assembles, and maintains charts.</li><li>Performs receptionist and clerical duties.</li><li>Answers call lights, responds professionally to questions and finds appropriate assistance for patients as needed.</li></ul><p>Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to identify actions to ensure the orderly operation of the unit and improve patient care.</p><ul><li>Demonstrates care and concern for customers by striving to meet their expectations.</li><li>Follows HIPAA guidelines.</li><li>Seeks supervision or assistance when unable to perform effectively or independently.</li><li>Uses interpersonal communication strategies with individuals that are intended to achieve desirable, acceptable outcomes/responses and perceptions of satisfaction by those involved.</li><li>Enters supply rooms on nursing units as needed to perform necessary job functions.</li><li>Refrains from manipulating or removing any intravenous fluids that are stored in the area.</li></ul><p>Contributes to continuity of patient care:</p><ul><li>Compliance with established hospital, departmental, and personnel policies.</li><li>Maintains documentation consistent with established guidelines.</li></ul><p><b><u><span>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS</span></u></b></p><ul><li>Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent</li><li>Preferred: Experience as a Receptionist, Secretary, or Unit Clerk in a healthcare setting.</li></ul><p></p><p>This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department.
